Phew, guys, I feel like it’s been a long week. It’s mostly me, probably – I’ve felt extra hormonal (oh, pregnancy) and short on patience all week. But it’s Friday and we have a nice low-key weekend ahead of us, so maybe, just maybe, with a little extra sleep (right??) I can snap out of my funk!
One of the things that usually helps me get past my own drama is thinking of the things that I am grateful for, and I was so excited to discover Ashley’s link-up TIGF (Things I’m Grateful For) over at Hello Nature. So here goes – here are some of the things I’m grateful for this week:
-Family – my 97 year old grandmother fell earlier this week, and we were all thankful to learn that she had suffered no breaks in her patella and that she will not require any surgery!
-Friends – I am so thankful for the communities that I have become a part of through facebook. There are mama communities, blogger communities, runner communities, and so many, many more. While I may never meet many of these friends IRL (in real life), I do believe there will be some true friendships blossoming from these acquaintances.
-Our hooligans and the people in this city who also love animals. Our local shelter had 743 adoptions between June 1 and August 1 this year. Not only is that number wonderful in and of itself, but about 250 of those pets were pulled out of other (not no-kill) shelters from the surrounding areas. Our city benefits so much from having citizens with such big hearts for those who cannot speak up for themselves. I am thrilled to be able to give my time and play a very small role in saving the other local hooligans. 🙂
